There are few whisky books, which I would designate as bedside reading, but this wee volume is an exception. It provides, as the blurb claims, “50 Invaluable Tips for Whisky Lovers”. I found myself getting through about 10 a night before slumber took over. Many of the tips are familiar but are set out in a way, which assists comprehension. A good example is “How Long Does a Whisky Last”. In some households the obvious answer is “not very long”. More seriously, Langley explains in a few lines the circumstances in which whisky might last forever. There are some well-tried whisky and food combinations and whisky cocktails too. A nice one to have on the bar or to get a conversation going.
