 An export blend from the 1980’s, this was the main brand of Nordren McCall Limited of London and Glasgow. It is unclear what the reference to 1707 on the label is based on. The fill is to the bottom of the neck and there is a matching box which has some minor marks. Black Prince has been used subsequently by other companies as a brand, including by The Black Prince Whisky Company Limited, but the original owners have been dormant as a company since around 1992.

Nordren McCall were originally engaged in filling, blending, exporting and marketing the Black Prince range of whiskies although they also had other earlier brands including Anniversary, Dunross and McCall’s. The company was originally part of the Henkes United Distillers Group of Holland.
