Sullivans Cove American Oak Cask Matured No HH0282 Tasmanian Single Malt Whisky

$1,250 AUD

47.5% 700 ml

This Sullivans Cove American Oak Cask example was bottled on 12 August 2014, almost exactly 14 and a half years after being distilled on 5 February 2000. It produced all of 180 bottles, most of which were quickly consumed by Sullivans Cove enthusiasts.

Within the Sullivans Cove range, the American Oak Single Cask is the most awarded of their various expressions. More widely, it is the most awarded Australian whisky ever. All are aged in 200L American oak ex-Bourbon barrels. Around the strong malt foundation there are hints of vanilla, caramel, stone fruit and white flowers and, of course, rounded off by a powerful oak influence.

Sullivans Cove

Australia’s most awarded distillery and one of the country’s modern whisky distilling pioneers, Sullivans Cove has achieved great success in recent years, including international recognition when their French Oak Single Cask was crowned World’s Best Single Malt in 2014 by the World Whiskies Awards. This, alongside exemplary ratings from Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, propelled Sullivans Cove into the spotlight, but with limited stock and a long maturation period, their whiskies are highly sought after and very hard to find.
