Old Aberdeen
I have a soft spot for Old Aberdeen, a brand of the long defunct Aberdeen Whisky Co. as, not surprisingly, it was based in Aberdeen, my home town. However, very little is known about the company, although it appears to have been operating in the 1950s and 60s and later.
The Aberdeen Whisky Company primarily dealt in blends for the export market . Its brands included Bag Pipe Player, Clan Cream and Old Aberdeen blends, and Royal Deeside vatted malt. Curiously the latter was also a brand of the Aboyne (Aberdeenshire) wine and spirits merchants, George Strachan Limited.
