Described as “Quite a nice old school blend, grain is felt but minimally”. This bottle dates from the 1960’s. A blended whisky from the golden age of blends, produced by MacGregor & Ross for the export market. This bottle was for the Italian market with the importer’s details on the back label.

This is a most unusually aged blend of that era at 20 years old. There is also a 12 years old and a standard blend without an age.

MACGREGOR & ROSS LTD

Apart from the Macgregor range, other brands were Biltmore and Glenfairn, the latter being a range of unidentified single malts bottled for Tesco supermarkets. Sometimes also known as Macgregor Ross & Co., this was a minor subsidiary of Whyte & Mackay Distillers Limited.
