White Horse Fine Old Scotch Whisky 1980s Flat Bottle

$315 AUD

The blend at its best reflecting the whisky glut of the 1980’s when distilleries closed because of excess stock. As a result, blends such as White Horse often contained malt whiskies aged from 12 to 15 years at no extra cost to the consumer.

This is a slightly unusual 750 ml flat bottle from that period.

Fill half way up the shoulder and some light spotting to the front and rear labels.

White Horse

A much-loved blend from the old DCL stable – forgive the pun – which Diageo still promotes in many overseas markets, including Japan.

It sold 1.5 million cases in 2015 but dropped to 1.3 million in 2016. Hopefully, that decline can be arrested.

There is more about White Horse and the brand’s history and associated distilleries under the White Horse Story.
