White Horse Fine Old Scotch Whisky 1960’s Australia Bottled

$650 AUD

A fine example of a bottled in Australia White Horse blend from the time when the level of discriminatory import duty on Scotch whisky bottled in Scotland justified the shipment in bulk of well-known brands to which local water was added and the product then bottled at DCL’s Australian facility. This is clearly stated on the label as is the reassuring declaration “guaranteed wholly distilled and matured in Scotland”.

The volume is prominently stated as “1 pint 6 fluid ounces” but, as was common at the time, not a word about alcoholic strength!

This product is located in Australia.

White Horse

A much-loved blend from the old DCL stable – forgive the pun – which Diageo still promotes in many overseas markets, including Japan.

It sold 1.5 million cases in 2015 but dropped to 1.3 million in 2016. Hopefully, that decline can be arrested.
