White Horse Fine Old 1pint 6 fl.oz. 1960s Bottled in Australia

$550 AUD

This is a fine example of White Horse at its height in the 1960s, for the Australian domestic market, to which the blend would be shipped in bulk, water added and then bottled locally. Thus, it would attract a lower rate of duty than bottled in Scotland products. To counter any suggestion that the locally bottled White Horse would in any way be inferior, the front label loudly proclaims that the contents are “Guaranteed wholly distilled and matured in Scotland” and “Product of Scotland” whereas “Bottled in Australia” appears in much smaller print at the bottom of the label.

The volume is quaintly described as being “1pint 6 fl.oz.” but there is no mention of strength.

In very good condition for its age complete with original miniature plastic White Horse round the neck.

This product is located in Australia.

White Horse

A much-loved blend from the old DCL stable – forgive the pun – which Diageo still promotes in many overseas markets, including Japan.

It sold 1.5 million cases in 2015 but dropped to 1.3 million in 2016. Hopefully, that decline can be arrested.
