Tasting Notes

Gorgeous fruit purity and softness to the bouquet. Wine soaked pears, apple flan and balsa wood over light vanilla, dropping off slightly after aeration. On the palate, cocoa and sweet malt are augmented by warming spices. Excellent balance with stewed orchard fruits and hints of raisin cake in the aftertaste.  (Nicks Wine Merchants).

On a side note, Corowa Distillery, located on the New South Wales side of the Murray River, is itself a regional whisky distillery and will be putting its own whisky on the market ere long.

Please note: slight cracks in the bottle's attractive wax seal might be present. This is not a packaging fault.

Sullivans Cove

Australia’s most awarded distillery and one of the country’s modern whisky distilling pioneers, Sullivans Cove has achieved great success in recent years, including international recognition when their French Oak Single Cask was crowned World’s Best Single Malt in 2014 by the World Whiskies Awards. As if that were not enough their American Oak Single Cask was awarded World’s Best Single Cask Single Malt at the World Whiskies awards in 2018.

All this, alongside exemplary ratings from Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible, including the first Australian whisky to achieve “Liquid Gold” status, has propelled Sullivans Cove into the global spotlight, but with limited stock and a long maturation period, their whiskies are highly sought after and very hard to find.
