White Heather
Once a prominent brand in France and elsewhere in Europe, White Heather Distillers Ltd was originally a subsidiary of S. Campbell & Son Limited, which was Pernod Ricard’s first excursion into Scotch whisky when they acquired it in 1974. The House of Campbell, as it was known, had a complicated history originally as blenders, turning distillers in 1945 through the acquisition of the Aberlour-Glenlivet distillery.
White Heather emerged in the 1950’s and came in various ages and expressions but for reasons which are rather obscure it was faded out in the 1980’s in favour of its stable mate, Clan Campbell. Its rather gaudy get-up around the dumpy square bottle makes it a popular collector’s item.
