Glen Rossie Distillers dates from 1914 when it was established in Glasgow and London.

The brand came in various expressions and ages. Glen Rossie Distillers Ltd. eventually became a subsidiary in the 1980’s of Stewart & Son of Dundee Ltd, which is still operating as part of Pernod Ricard. The Glen Rossie brand was owned for a while by The Brand Cellar which had plans to relaunch it featuring Status Quo lead singer and guitarist Francis Rossi in a new and plectrum-inspired presentation, but it is not clear what happened to these plans. Other brands belonging to Glen Rossie Distillers Ltd included Auld Petrie and Taster’s Choice.  Neither has been seen for some time.
